What is Synchronized Skating?
Synchronized skating is a team sport in which 8 - 20 skaters perform a program together. It is judged using the same system as singles, pairs and dance. It is characterized by teamwork, speed, intricate formations and challenging step sequences. Some of the elements in synchronized skating include blocks, circles, wheels, lines, intersections, moves in the field, moves in isolation, no-hold blocks, spins and pairs moves.
Teams compete in 15 different levels from the Beginner level up to Senior. Click here for a USFS Synchronized Skating Team Definition list.
There are many benefits to participating in a team sport, and synchronized skating is a great way for figure skaters to compete in a sport they love while enjoying all of the aspects of working with others in a team-oriented sport.

Fire Crystal Kudos in the 2007-2008 Season
The Pre-Juvenile 1 team attended the 2008 Pacific Coast Sectional Championships in Franklin, Tennessee, and brought home silver medals. We are very proud of all of our teams for their hard work and for a very successful season. And a big THANK YOU to the Fire Crystals sponsors for helping to make the trip to Tennessee possible.
Both the Pre-Juvenile 1 and Pre-Juvenile 2 teams had a successful season closer to home, too. Both teams did very well at the Fort Collins Classic and at Funtastics in Arvada, CO. They also skated at a number of exhibitions during the year and performed in the 20th Annual Winter Wishes Ice Show.
